The Vinland Saga memorial video (included below) that was released earlier this week is bound to get fans of the viking-themed action-adventure anime excited!

The official Vinland Saga twitter account has also tweeted a teaser visual including the tagline "The sould of the beast returns to earth."

Vinland Saga's first season was directed by Shuhei Yabuta (Inuyashiki Last Hero) at WIT STUDIO. The series composition was by Hiroshi Seko (Mob Psycho 100), with character design being handled by Takahiko Abiru (Hunter x Hunter) and Yutako Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul) composing the music. It originally aired in 2019 with 24 episodes.

Yabuta and Abiru have been confirmed to return, but no word yet on which studio will be responsible for animating Vinland Saga season 2.

The anime is based upon the Japanese historical manga series of the same name. The Vinland Saga manga is written and illustrated by Makota Yukimura. The series has been compiled into twenty-three bound volumes. It begins in Dane-controlled England at the beginning of the 11th century, and features Vikings, the well-known Danish invaders of England. It has had over 5 million copies in circulation and won the 36th Kodansha Manga Award for Best General Manga.
