Next month will see the arrival of 2.5 Dimensional Seduction, an anime TV series based on the romantic comedy manga, debut on HIDIVE. With just a few weeks to go until the romantic comedy debuts, we've got a new trailer and key visual, which you can watch below.
Based on the popular manga series by Yu Hashimoto, 2.5 Dimensional Seduction is a romantic comedy drama "about passionate teenagers and their endeavors overcoming both their worries and dilemmas to become the best cosplayers they can possibly be."
Today's trailer gives us a glimpse at some of the steamy comedy fans can expect when the series debuts next month. It also features the opening theme song for the series, "Shutter Chance," performed by Meychan.
2.5 Dimensional Seduction is set to premiere this summer. It will broadcast in Japan for two consecutive cours beginning on July 5, 2024, and will be simulcast on HIDIVE in the United States as well. The official series description, courtesy of HIDIVE, reads:
"I have no interest in real girls!" So claims Okumura, the president of the school's manga club. He's your typical otaku, obsessed with a sexy (fictional) 2D manga character known as Liliel. Then the new school year starts, and a (real!) 3D girl named Ririsa whose passion is cosplay joins the club. Ririsa convinces Okumura to become her photographer—and guess who her favorite manga character is? Not only that, but Ririsa is into modeling the fetishy stuff! The boundaries between 2D and 3D start to blur as this hot-blooded romantic comedy unfolds."
“We’re pleased to announce the addition of 2.5 Dimensional Seduction as the newest exclusive series to join HIDIVE’s simulcast line-up this summer,” said John Ledford, President of HIDIVE, said earlier this month when announced HIDIVE as the series' streaming home in the United States. “Cosplay is synonymous with anime and fans will now have a chance to celebrate it with this sure-to-please new romcom drama!”
Fans who attend Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, California next month will actually get a sneak peek at the series. The first episode of 2.5 Dimensional Seduction will be shown on Thursday, July 4 in room 403AB on the Level 2 Concourse of the Los Angeles Convention Center.
The 2.5 Dimensional Seduction manga is serialized in Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ digital manga magazine, with an English language version available from Seven Seas Entertainment.
The upcoming anime series is adapted from the currently 19-volume-long manga. It's directed by Hideki Okamoto with writing by Takao Yoshioka and production by J.C.Staff. Tomoyuki Shitaya provides the character designs, and Hiroaki Tsutsumi provides the music.
