GKIDs is getting set to turn things up a notch with the revelation that they have acquired the distribution rights for the BLUE GIANT anime feature in North America. The film will be directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa, who also directed Mob Psycho 100, and will be based on the manga written by Shinichi Ishizuka. It is scheduled to be released in cinemas in North America at the end of this year! We will keep you updated with the official release date as more details are announced.

On February 17, the movie that was directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa (Mob Psycho 100) at NUT was released to the public in Japan. Since May 2013, the manga of Shinichi Ishizuka has been appearing in a monthly installment in Shogakukan's Big Comic. After having its first narrative arc, BLUE GIANT, take place in Japan from May 2013 until August 2016, and its second story arc, BLUE GIANT Supreme, take place in Europe from September 2016 to April 2020, the tale started its third story arc, BLUE GIANT Explorer, in May 2020, and it was set in the United States of America. In total, 27 collected volumes have been published in Japan, and there have been more than 8.8 million copies printed as of this point.
