Seven Seas Entertainment made the exciting annoucnement this week that the license to adapt Ai Shimizu's manga series Breakfast with My Two-Tailed Cat has been acquired by the company. In this fantastical slice-of-life story, a gigantic talking cat saves a guy from a life of isolation as the two revel in the tranquility of the countryside and the delectable meals that they share.
Seven Seas Entertainment describes the manga's story:
When a widower tries to move on in the countryside after his wife dies, his solitary life is interrupted by a furry friend. His wife’s beloved pet cat has turned into a nekomata—a cat yokai. Now this friendly supernatural kitty is as tall as a human, has two tails, and can even talk! Together, they share a heartwarming slow life as they cook and eat tasty food surrounded by nature. Enjoy freshly baked bread, homemade jam, fluffy omelets, and seasonal vegetables with the members of this unusual and charming household!
Seven Seas Entertainment also announced that Breakfast with My Two-Tailed Cat Vol. 1 will be released for the first time in North America in December 2023 for $13.99 USA / $17.99 CAN, with the series available in print and on digital platforms in single volume editions.
