Seven Seas Entertainment is ecstatic to share the news that it has acquired the license to publish the manga series Chi: On the Movements of the Earth, which was created by Uoto. This award-winning tale, which will soon be adapted into an upcoming anime, combines epic historical fiction with scientific suspense, and it is now available in English for the first first time in huge omnibus versions.

Aren't familiar with the manga Chi: On the Movements of the Earth by Uoto? Let's fill you in on the storyline!

The manga is set in "P Kingdom" in the fifteenth century. Individuals are deemed heretics and subject to torture or being burned at the stake if they propose concepts that conflict with the "C religion's" teachings, such as the theory that the Earth revolves around the Sun. Hubert, a scholar and heretic, coerces Rafal, a young prodigy with a passion in astronomy, to help him with his research for the "about the movement of the Earth" theory.

Rafal's heliocentric model diagram is discovered by Novak, an inquisitor, and Hubert confesses blame and is executed, leaving Rafal with a spherical necklace. Rafal utilizes the necklace to locate Hubert's buried theory-related study materials. Rafal continues Hubert's investigation, but Potocki, his foster father, informs him. Rafal is questioned about the hypothesis but refuses to refute it, ultimately consuming poppy seeds to end his life.

Twenty years later, two duelists named Okgi and Gallus are tasked with watching after a heretic while they are being transported. When he passes away to keep Okgi safe from Novak, the heretic tells them where the research is being conducted. In order to make sense of the text, the two decide to consult a deposed priest named Badeni. As a bridge collapses while they are on it, Gallus gives Okgi the pendant and their mission before passing away. Okgi runs into Badeni, who accepts Okgi's offer to continue Gallus' astronomical observations in exchange for her review of the materials. The materials, according to Badeni, are insufficient and call for the use of more records.

On the same day that they post a complaint on a city bulletin board, Jolanta, a girl, responds. A scholar named Jolanta agrees to help them by connecting them with Piast, a fervent supporter of the Ptolemaic worldview. Okgi notices Venus waxing, and Piast consents to let the gang have access to his records after seeing it. Badeni completes the hypothesis by employing Piast's records.

After looking through Badeni's cabin and spotting the jewelry, Novak realizes who is in the group. The inquisitors are repelled by Okgi, but he and Badeni are taken prisoner. The two are put to death after Novak tortures Okgi and compels Badeni to reveal where the research materials are. Novak adversary Antoni tries to have Novak's daughter Jolanta declared a heretic, but an inquisitor frees her. A priest at Badeni's church named Cklamovski learns that Badeni has tattooed copies of Okgi's diaries onto the vagrants in the area.

25 years later, Schmitt, the leader of the Heretic Liberation Force, is compelled by Jolanta to retrieve Okgi's book but must leave it in a deserted village. When Draka, a Romani, finds the book and decides to burn it for financial gain, Schmitt is compelled to accompany her. Draka reads the book's contents to Jolanta in exchange for being permitted to use their printing press. As the inquisitors discover the gang, Jolanta stays behind and blows herself up.
