DOING HIS BEST TO CONFESS Manga Comes To An Official End

We have bittersweet news for fans of the manga Doing His Best! The conclusion of Satoru's Doing His Best to Confess (Natsuaki-kun wa Ky mo Kokuhaku Shitai) manga will be published in the April edition of Kodansha's Bessatsu Friend magazine, which will be released on March 13. The announcement was made on Monday in the magazine's March issue.

Not familiar with the manga? Here's a little breakdown of the story plot for you!

Natsuaki is the class hottie thanks to his dashing good looks and mysterious appearance; yet, he has a major infatuation on Nashida, a girl who is also enrolled in his class. No one, not even his best friend, is aware of this, which makes it even more difficult for Natsuaki to work up the courage to tell Nashida that he likes her...especially considering that every single time he tries, he is either interrupted or completely misunderstood by her. No one is aware of this, which makes it even more difficult for Natsuaki to work up the courage to tell Nashida that he likes her.

In October of 2021, Kodansha USA Publishing acquired the manga's publishing license and began digital publication of the work. The company describes the story:

Natsuaki-kun is aloof, handsome, and popular with the ladies...except to his friends, who know his aloofness is because he's shy and always in his own thoughts. Thoughts always occupied by his oddball classmate, Nashida-san...but try as he might, Natsuaki-kun can't ever seem to get up the courage to confess. Can he find a way to tell her how he feels?!

In May of 2020, Satoru debuted the manga in the publication Bessatsu Friend. Additionally, chapters of the manga were released for a brief period on the Palcy manga website and app, which are both operated by Kodansha. In October of 2022, Kodansha released the fourth compilation book volume of the manga series. On May 12th, the fifth and final volume of the manga will be made available.
