TBS has just released a brand-new key image for the drama adaptation of the BL manga I Cannot Reach You. The plot centers on the romance between two high school students who were pals as kids. Every Tuesday starting on September 26, and it will be broadcast on TBS in Japan.

The love story between Kakeru and Yamato is the main subject of I Cannot Reach You. Kakeru is a typical high school student with a positive outlook on life. Yamato, meantime, is attractive, intelligent, and well-liked by girls. The primary image of the two of them sitting under a tree together mirrors the subject of the novel, which is a "pure romance." The two principal actors and the producer have both made remarks that support the "platonic" quality of the source material.

About the I Cannot Reach You series:

No matter how much time we spend together, I’ll never become special to you. Childhood best friends. Two halves of a whole. The Cool, smart one who’s good at almost everything, and his average, dorky friend who struggles to do anything right—Yamato and Kakeru. Always by the other’s side, but not together in the way they truly want to be. No matter how hard they try, their hearts cannot reach each other...

Mika is the author and illustrator of the I Cannot Reach You manga, and Yen Press is in charge of the English publication and distribution.
