Today was the first ever Kobo E-Book awards, which were sponsored by online retailer Rakuten. These awards were intended to "empower e-reading" of comics and novels in order to assist in revitalizing the publishing business in Japan! There was a category for one-shot manga, a category for the "best manga," a category for "featured manga," and a category for the very first special award given out for manga series. Each of these three categories had its own winners.
