Joshurei Hei no Naka no Satsuriki Game ("Female Prisoner Ghost A Slaughter Game Behind Bars"), a psychological horror manga set in a women's jail, just announced that it has a live-action film currently in the works (and almost ready to release)! The movie is expected to premiere in Japanese theaters beginning next month on August 22, 2023.

The story of Joshurei ~ Hei no Naka no Satsuriki Game~ follows Miyama (Natsuko), a politician's secretary who is imprisoned after being accused of murdering a trusted member of the Diet. While Miyama maintains her innocence, Machida (Misa Wada) – one of Miyama's 3 cellmates – is put in solitary confinement after another cellmate, Kaneko (Wan Marui), goads Machida into lashing out.
Rumors persist that the women placed in solitary confinement often die mysteriously, but when Machida returns from her punishment, she begins behaving strangely as if someone or something is manipulating her, and the rumors continue that the real problems begin when someone survives being placed in solitary...
