Warner Bros. Japan has released a new character spotlight video for Suicide Squad Isekai, this time introducing Deadshot.

One of the deadliest assassins in the DC Universe, Deadshot is described as "an expert marksman who never misses his target. Rough and foul-mouthed by nature, he sports a gauntlet on both arms."

From the DC Comics to the DC live-action films, Deadshot is a popular character in the Suicide Squad, although he's not necessarily one to take orders from others. The short intro highlights teases a bit of his past, but mostly focuses on his tendency to resolve matters with a wide arsenal of weaponry. He's going to need all of the weapons he can get is hands on when he, Harley Quinn, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark are sent to an otherworldly fantasy realm filled with swords, magic, orcs, dragons, and more.

Produced by Wit Studio and presented by Warner Bros. Japan, Suicide Squad Isekai is an anime television series based on the Suicide Squad team from the comics by DC Comics. It's directed by Eri Osada, with the series composition and the screenplay by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara.

The official synopsis for Suicide Squad Isekai reads:

In the crime-ridden Gotham city, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark. These DC Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies—an “ISEKAI”!

Harley and others go on a rampage after arriving in ISEKAI but are captured by the Kingdom's soldiers and sent to prison. They only have 72 hours before the bomb on their neck explodes. The deadline is fast approaching. After negotiations with Queen Aldora, the condition for liberation was the conquest of the hostile Imperial army. They have no choice but to throw themselves head-first into the front line of battle.

They run; they die. They lose; they die. With their lives on the line, can Harley Quinn and The Suicide Squad survive in ISEKAI? Brace yourselves for the pulse-pounding saga of the elite task force known as the “Suicide Squad” as they embark on a jaw-dropping adventure! Let the party begin!

Deadshot's character spotlight comes on the heels of Warner Bros. Japan sharing ones for the Joker and Harley Quinn. The backgrounds of both characters in the upcoming anime series seem fairly in line with their DC Comics origin stories. It will be interesting to see how their personalities clash when transported into an "ISEKAI."

Suicide Squad Isekai will premiere this July in Japan on Tokyo MX and BS11. The series is expected to receive an English dub after the anime wraps airing, but no date has been announced yet, nor has the English voice cast.
