With the second season of Oshi No Ko premiering this summer, the first main promotional video for the anime has been released. The video was shared on Sunday during a live-streamed program that also revealed two more cast members and the opening theme song.

It was confirmed that musical artist GEMN is performing the second season's opening theme song, titled "Fatale." You can hear a snippet of the song in the PV below. More details about GEMN will be released at a later date, although a teaser site for the artist was launched today.

In addition to the new trailer and opening theme reveal, we've also learned of two new cast members:

  • Ayane Sakura will voice Abiko Samejima, the creator of the manga that inspired the 2.5D stage play Tokyo Blade
  • Daisuke Ono will voice GOA, the scriptwriter of the 2.5D stage play Tokyo Blade

Oshi No Ko Season 2 will debut on July 3 at 11:00 p.m. (10:00 a.m. EDT) on Tokyo MX and over 29 other channels throughout Japan. In March, it was announced that AMC Networks' HIDIVE will simulcast Season 2 of the anime exclusively in the United States and Canada, as well as its overseas markets including the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. Oshi No Ko Season 2 will premiere in July as well as part of HIDIVE's Summer 2024 simulcast season.

Based on the award-winning seinen manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Oshi No Ko shows us the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry. The series follows Dr. Gorou who is reborn as the song of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. The official synopsis reads:

When pregnant young starlet Ai Hoshino appears at Dr. Gorou Amemiya’s clinic, he takes it upon himself to safely (and secretly) deliver her child so Ai can make a scandal-free return to the stage. But on the eve of her delivery, Gorou is slain at the hands of Ai’s deluded stalker — and is subsequently reborn as Ai’s child, Aquamarine Hoshino! The glitz and glamor of showbiz hide the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry. Can he help his new mother rise to the top of the charts?

The second season of the anime will focus on a 2.5D stage play titled Tokyo Blade, an adaptation of the fictional manga series written by Abiko Samejima. The 2.5D stage play's adaptation of the series' scenario is centered on the "Shibuya Conflict" Arc.

Oshi No Ko garnered critical acclaim for its inaugural season and was the recipient of numerous awards, including Anime of the Year at Tokyo Anime Awards Festival. The series is directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and Ciao Nekotomi along with writing by Jin Tanaka, character design by Kanna Hirayama and animation by production studio Doga Kobo.

Following its premiere last April, Oshi No Ko became the No. 1 series launch in HIDIVE's history. You can watch the entirety of Season 1 on HIDIE in Japanese or English.
