Following his well-received takes on Shin Godzilla and Shin Ultraman, director Hideaki Anno's next live-action reboot, Shin Kamen Rider, is now playing in theaters in Japan, and an action-packed new trailer has been released online.

The teaser spotlights some insane imagery, along with the usual fast-paced, violent battles we've come to expect from Anno, who also penned the script.

No U.S. release date has been announced, unfortunately, but we'll be sure to keep you updated. For now, check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.

In the movie, an intellectual named Takeshi Hongo is kidnapped by a cult known as SHOCKER (The Sustainable Happiness Organization with Computational Knowledge Embedded Remodeling) and transformed into the mutant cyborg, Batta Augment-01.
