Call Of The Night will be based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotoyama. It has been serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday since August 2019. In North America, Viz Media holds the license for the manga English release which started April 2021. As of July 2021, eight volumes have been published. The anime production will be at Linden Films with Tetsuya Miyanishi and Tomoyuki Itamura taking the directing lead. Haruka Sagawa will be designing the characters and the scripts will be written by Michiko Yokote. The anime television series adaptation will be premiering beginning Summer 2022 on Fuju TV's Noitamina programming block.
You might recognize the two main voice cast characters, who include Gen Sato (Dr. STONE) and Sora Amamiya (Mieruko-chan).
This anime begins with a young junior high school student, Ko Yamori, who decides he wants to get away from his boring life by quitting school and then for even more excitement, he starts wandering the dark, scary streets alone at night. During one of his strolls, he meets a young female vampire, Nazuna Nanakusa, who shows him how fun this nightlife can be as a "nightwalker" by turning him into a vampire with a simple bite on his neck.
