Riichiro Inagaki and Boichi's manga, Dr. Stone, is successful not just for its story, but also because of how it can educate readers on basic science how civilizations got started hundreds of years ago (because let's be honest, we could all use a history or science brush up). The series follows high school student and genius, Senku and his friends who, after hundreds of years of being inexplicably turned to stone, reemerge and try to hit the fast-forward button on civilization and catch the world up to where it was while saving everyone else that was turned to stone.
The manga was successful in print, and its sales even got the series greenlit for an anime adaption! Its first season released in the summer of last year and was a surprise hit, considering its action-packed competition with shows like Demon Slayer, Fire Force, and My Hero Academia. Following its conclusion, a second season, Dr. Stone: Stone Wars, was confirmed and has been in development ever since.
With the new season confirmed for a release next year, marketing and announcements for the show have been slowly coming in, and one such reveal is in regards to the upcoming opening and ending themes! According to the show's official website, Fujifabric will be performing the song "Rakuen (Paradise)" for the opening theme, while Hatena will be performing the ending theme "Koe? (Voice?)."
For now, there is no audio to listen to for the new themes; however, both performers have expressed incredible excitement for the opportunity. We would love to hear your thoughts on the new reveals in the comments below!
3,700 years after a mysterious light turns every human on the planet into stone, genius boy Senku Ishigami emerges from his petrification into a "Stone World" and seeks to rebuild human civilization from the ground up.
Dr. Stone: Stone Wars will release in Japan and on Crunchyroll in January 2021!
