Earlier today during Lucasfilm's panel at Anime Expo, they offered up details and images for their new anime series Star Wars Visions! They also announced that the anthology will be coming to the Disney+ streaming service on September 22nd of this year! Check out the special look video below!
Disney has described the anime project as "several of the leading Japanese anime studios offering a fresh and diverse cultural perspective". There will be 10 Star Wars anime shorts released this year.
The shorts that will be opening with the series are titled:
The Duel
Lop and Ochō
Tatooine Rhapsody
The Twins
The Elder
The Village Bride
Akakiri
T0-B1
The Ninth Jedi
When discussing the short films in the video, “It’s basically the story of twins of the dark side,” Hiroyuki Imaishi from studio Trigger said of his installment. Taku Kimura describes his short, “Tatooine Rhapsody,” as a “rock opera-style film.”
Many of the top anime studios will be working on the project, such as Production I.G, Trigger and Science SARU to name a few. Star Wars: Visions will be available to stream on September 22nd of this year!
