The creditless version of the opening theme song for the second season of the popular TV anime, Tokyo Revengers, has reached over 1 million views within a day of its release.
The video, which features HIGE DANdism’s "White Noise," has garnered an impressive 1.9 million views on YouTube, and this is ahead of its premiere of the first episode of the series in Japan, which is set to air later this week on January 7th.
Crunchyroll began broadcasting the first season of Tokyo Revengers beginning April of 2021, and the show quickly garnered a considerable fanbase during that time. The second season, which will be accessible for streaming on Disney+ internationally beginning in January, will start airing in Japan on the 8th of that month at three in the morning. The January release will be given the title Tokyo Revengers Christmas Showdown Arc.
The Tokyo Revengers anime is based upon the Japanese manga of the same name. Ken Wakui is responsible for both the writing and the artwork in this manga series. Between the months of March 2017 and November 2022, it was published as a serial in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, and as of November 2022, its chapters had been compiled in a total of thirty tankbon volumes. The television anime series was created by Liden Films.
In Japan, the first installment of a live-action film adaption was released in July 2021, and the second installment is scheduled for release in 2023.
As of December 2022, the manga had over 70 million copies of the manga in circulation, making it one of the best-selling manga series in the history of the medium. Tokyo Revengers was the recipient of the 44th Kodansha Manga Award for the shōnen category in the year 2020.
Takemichi Hanagaki, a freelancer whose life has reached an all-time low at this point, is the protagonist of the story Tokyo Revengers. After he learns that his former middle school sweetheart, Hinata Tachibana, was murdered by the merciless Tokyo Manji Gang, he is shoved onto the tracks at a railway station and feels he is going to be killed. When he opens his eyes, he discovers that he has been transported back in time by twelve years. He is shocked. Takemichi embarks on a mission to exact vengeance on his life in the hopes of rewriting his own history and rescuing his girlfriend.
