The second season of I'm Standing on a Million Lives (Hyaku-Man no Inochi no Ue ni Ore wa Tatteiru)will be arriving a lot sooner than most fans anticipated. The Fall 2020 isekai anime wrapped last December but will be returning for its second cour this July.
The Maho Film produced TV anime is an adaptation of writer Naoki Yamakawa and illustrator Akinari Nao's ongoing manga series which is currently serialized in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shōnen monthly magazine. Kodansha USA releases the series in English for North American fans.
Eleven volumes have been released in Japan while 9 volumes have been translated and released in the U.S. The TV anime leaves off in the middle of volume 3 so there's certainly plenty of source material for the studio to adapt. Manga readers have been warning anime-only watchers that the manga gets unexpectedly emotional moving forward.
The new preview trailer below also showcases the new ED theme song Subversive from J-pop singer Kanako Takatsuki.
