Earlier this month, the cover of  Weekly Shonen Jump teased a big announcement concerning the Bleach franchise as the manga magazine was set to release the final chapter of Tite Kubo's long-running shonen manga.  While many fans were hoping that the announcement would be a continuation of the anime series, it turns out that a live-action movie is in the works with Sōta Fukushi set to star as Ichigo Kurasaki and Shinsuke Sato directing.

The final chapter of the manga will be released on Monday, in the  38th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump..

You can check out the film's official website at http://wwws.warnerbros.co.jp/bleach-movie/.

A live-action film was planned for a US remake back in 2010 but never made it out of development.  With the series waning in popularity in the years since, it's unlikely that a US remake will ever get made but WB Japan recently did an excellent job with the live-action Rurouni Kenshin trilogy so fan optimism for the project is currently high.
