An anime adaptation of Komi Can't Communicate from Studio OLM was first announced last May and we now have a new teaser trailer which confirms that the series will debut this October. The manga first started back in May 2016 is extremely popular in Japan, having previously ranked #1 on AnimeJapan's 2020 survey of "Most Wanted Anime Adaptation".
Prior to the anime's announcement in May, the manga had a long-running meme from anime fans that it would never receive an anime adaptation.
To date, 20 volumes of the manga have been released in Japan with the 21st slated for release on May 18. Viz Media holds the English-language license and has released 12 volumes in North America.
Kazuki Kawagoe (Beyblade Burst God storyboarder) is directing from a script adapted by Deko Akao (Noragami) while Atsuko Nakajima ( Ranma ½, Tokyo Ghoul:re) handles character designs.
