The TV anime series BLUELOCK has inspired a spin-off mobile game BLUELOCK BLAZE BATTLE which will have its gameplay focus on its "soccer animation battle simulation"!

Features Opinion

Attention fans of TV anime series BLUELOCK! A newly announced mobile game BLUELOCK BLAZE BATTLE was just announced today! The game developer BAEL is responsible for creating what they call a "soccer animation battle simulation".

The game released a 15-second teaser trailer along with the announcement, which showed a little bit of what we might see when the game is finally released. Check it out now!

Since August of 2018, the BLUELOCK manga has been serialized in the pages of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine. The story is written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro, and Yusuke Nomura is responsible for the illustrations. In 2021, it was honored with the 45th Kodansha Manga Award in the genre of shonen, and there are presently 20 volumes of it that are being published in Japan. Kodansha Comics is the company that publishes the manga in English; at this point, they have issued 14 volumes.

Crunchyroll currently streams the anime adaptation and describes it:

After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan's team struggles to regroup. But what's missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Japan Football Union is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match...and to do so, they've gathered 300 of Japan's best and brightest youth players. Who will emerge to lead the team...and will they be able to out-muscle and out-ego everyone who stands in their way?

The Twitter account @BLUELOCK_BLAZE has been launched for the game, as well as an official website. According to the latter, we can expect to see at least four voice actors returning to voice their characters:

  • Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi
  • Tasuku Kaito as Meguru Bachira
  • Yūki Ono as Rensuke Kunigami
  • Sōma Saitō as Hyōma Chigiri

Limited information has been released thus far, but more details about gameplay, release dates, and additional cast members are expected to be released soon!
