One Piece Film Red is a film that was created by Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece. Goro Taniguchi (One Piece Defeat Him! The Pirate Ganzack!) directed the film, and Tsutomu Kuroiwa was the writer. Eiichiro Oda served as the executive producer of the film (One Piece Film: Gold).

One Piece, an animated series produced by Toei Animation and based on the best-selling manga title of all time, tells the story of a heroic search for the legendary treasure known as "One Piece," which belonged to the former King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger. This anime franchise encompasses theatrical films, home videos, video games, and an ever-expanding catalog of licensed merchandise that includes accessories, toys, novelties, furniture, housewares, and apparel. The crowning achievement for this anime franchise is One Piece's status as a prominent element of pop culture on a global scale.

"We were confident that One Piece Film Red would be a hit with U.S. and Canadian audiences and this weekend’s stellar opening proves it," said Masayuki Endo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Toei Animation Inc. "This is a history-making moment for the One Piece franchise and its most successful theatrical release ever. Over the last 23 years, the One Piece anime series has attracted an enormous global fan base and it continues to grow around the world – especially here in North America as illustrated by the film’s success."

"One Piece is one of the most storied franchises in anime history, and Crunchyroll is thrilled that the film from our partners at Toei Animation saw success at the box office this past weekend," said Mitchel Berger, Senior Vice President of Global Commerce at Crunchyroll. "To have the tremendous support of fans for One Piece Film Red continues the trend of anime leading the charge in audiences coming back to theaters and enjoying the big screen experience."

The most adored singer in the world, Uta, whose voice has been hailed as "otherworldly," is famous for hiding her true identity when she is on stage. Now, during a live performance, she will, for the very first time, introduce herself to the rest of the world.

The Navy is keeping a close eye on the venue as it fills up with Uta's fans. These fans include excited pirates as well as the Straw Hats led by Luffy, who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance. All of these fans are eagerly awaiting the voice that the entire world has been waiting for to resound while the venue is being watched by the Navy. The surprising information that she is the enigmatic Shanks' daughter is revealed at the beginning of the narrative. There is Gordon, a mysterious character who is familiar with Uta's history, and flashes of Shanks' shadow as Uta stands on the stage with the common goal of "making the world happy with my music." On Elegia, the island of music, Luffy and Uta meet again for the first time since they had last seen each other in Foosha Village, which was twelve years ago.
