Four new additions have been announced for the cast of One Piece Season 3. Joining Netflix's hit live-action adaptation for the next chapter, titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, are Emilio Sakraya (Rheingold, Those About to Die, Fortitude) as Koza, Omid Abtahi (The Mandalorian, American Gods) as Toto, Jamie Ward (The Gentlemen, His Dark Materials) as Pell, and Nabeel Khan (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Strike Back) as Chaka.
Emilio Sakraya is playing Koza, one of the arc's more interesting characters. He grew up alongside Princess Vivi, but ends up leading the Alabasta Rebel Forces. His childhood friend turning into the face of an uprising against her own family's kingdom is exactly what makes the civil war storyline hit so hard, that push and pull between old loyalty and the anger of his people.
Jamie Ward and Nabeel Khan are taking on the two guys guarding the royal family. Ward plays Pell, generally regarded as the strongest fighter in Alabasta and one of the head royal guards. In the source material he's got the Bird-Bird Fruit, Model Falcon, which allows him to transform into a full falcon or a human-falcon hybrid. Khan plays Chaka, the second head guard who ends up running things as acting captain since Igaram is out of the picture (his fate's still unknown after his run in with Mr. 5).
Rounding out the list of new additions is Omid Abtahi as Toto, the village elder of Yuba who also happens to be Koza's dad. He's a good way to show what the rebellion actually costs regular people. Instead of just following the fight from the palace or the rebel camp, you get a father's perspective on watching his son lead a revolt that came out of real desperation, not some grand plan.
These four castings should round out a lot o the political and personal drama Alabasta needs heading into Season 3, with the Rebel Forces, the royal family, and Crocodile's Baroque Works all set to collide.
Other previous cast announcements for Season 3 include Xolo Maridueña (Cobra Kai) as Portgas D. Ace, Cole Escola (Oh, Mary!) as theatrical assassin Bon Clay, Daisy Head (Shadow and Bone, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) as Baroque Works agent Miss Doublefinger, and Awdo Awdo (Subversion) as Mr. 1.
Of course, all of the Straw Hats are returning, including Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Also returning are Season 2 cast members: Chandran as Princess Vivi, Mikaela Hoover as Tony Tony Chopper, Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and Sendhil Ramamurthy as Alabasta King Nefertari Cobra. Manganiello, Abova, and Ramamurthy have been upgraded to series regulars for Season 3.
Production on One Piece Season 3 has already wrapped with new episodes set to arrive in 2027.
