According to THR, an English language live-action adaptation of the Sunrise's original anime series, Tiger & Bunny is in the works. Novelist turned screenwriter Ellen Shanman (The Brokenhearted, Everything Nice) was just hired to develop the first draft of the script.
The project is currently housed at Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment, who are partnering with All Nippon Entertainment Works and Bandai Namco Pictures ( a subsidiary of Sunrise) to bring the project to the US.
In a statement to THR, Ron Howard stated, "As we move forward in developing the wonderful Tiger & Bunny film, we are delighted to add a true rising star in Ellen Shanman to bring the story and characters to life. Ellen’s strong, visionary, creative voice is a perfect match to adapt this wildly popular story for new audiences."
Tiger & Bunny is an original, 25-episode 2011 anime from Sunrise. Keiichi Satou directed the series, Masafumi Nishida wrote the script and Masakazu Katsura designed the characters. An anime film was released in 2012, titled Tiger & Bunny: The Beginning, which recapped the first half of the anime series before venturing off into a brand new story. A second anime film was released in 2014, titled Tiger & Bunny: The Rising, which was set between the anime finale and the epilogue episode.
The Western, live-action remake was first announced in 2015 at New York Comic-Con.

Barnaby, nicknamed "Bunny" by his frivolous new partner, quickly makes it clear that the two could not be more different. Though they mix as well as oil and water, Tiger and Bunny must learn to work together, both for the sake of their careers and to face the looming threats within Stern Bild.
