The story is described:
Over ten years have passed since the "gates," or the routes that link our reality with another dimension, suddenly appeared. Since then, some people have developed supernatural abilities. These people are what we call "hunters." Hunters eke out a life by destroying the dungeons inside the gates with the use of their abilities. The low-ranking hunter Jinwoo Sung is said to as "the weakest hunter of all mankind" in this world of stern clients. When Jinwoo encounters high-rank double dungeons that are concealed inside a low-rank dungeon one day, he suffers a deadly injury. A cryptic mission window suddenly displays in front of him as the system selects him as its only player, giving him the incredibly rare ability to level up in strength, maybe beyond any known boundaries. Jinwoo, who was about to pass away, decides to accept the mission and begins leveling up while the others do not. Jinwoo then embarks on a quest to learn the secrets of the dungeons and the true source of his powers while facing off against a variety of foes, both human and monster.
Solo Leveling also has a webtoon adaption that was illustrated by Jang-Sung-Rak (aka Dubu), the CEO of Redice Studio, and it debuted as a series on KakaoPage on March 4, 2018. The webcomic's first season ended on March 19, 2020, while the second season started airing on August 1 of the same year. As of October 7, 2021, D&C Media has gathered and published its separate chapters into five volumes.
At Netmarble, a role-playing video game for Solo Leveling is also in the works!
