SPY x FAMILY CODE: White continues its Japanese box office domination by holding the number 1 spot for a third consecutive weekend!

The first feature film from the SPY x FAMILY anime franchise, SPY x FAMILY CODE: White, has completed its third weekend with a cumulative domestic gross of 4.4 billion yen (30.47 million USD) on 3.29 million admissions.

During the January 5-7 weekend the movie earned 550 million yen (3.81 million USD) with 399,000 tickets sold. This was a 31 percent drop from its second weekend gross of 800 million yen, but still enough to keep the film in the number one spot for a third consecutive weekend.

SPY x FAMILY CODE: White has become the third top-grossing Japanese anime film of 2023, surpassing Doraemon: Nobita's Sky Utopia (4.34 billion yen / 30.04 million USD).

A special video was released to celebrate the film's third week at number one.

Detective Conan vs. Kaito Kid, a new compilation film from the Detective Conan/Case Closed anime franchise, debuted in fourth place after opening in 180 theaters in Japan on January 5. The film compiles legendary episodes from the TV series, including the birth of Kaito Kid, who will be a key character in the series' next movie. Detective Conan: The Million Dollar Signpost, the 27th movie in the franchise, will be released in Japan on April 12.

Godzilla Minus One ranked seventh in its 10th weekend, down one place from the previous weekend.

Kitaro Tanjou - GeGeGe no Nazo dropped two spots from the previous weekend to ninth place.

About SPY x FAMILY

SPY x FAMILY is a bi-weekly Shonen Jump+ manga series authored and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo.

The story revolves around a spy who must create a family to accomplish his mission, unaware that the girl he adopts as his daughter and the woman who agrees to a sham marriage is a mind reader and an assassin, respectively.

The SPY x FAMILY manga series is published in English for free through the Manga Plus app and website by Shueisha. The North American licensing rights are held by Viz Media.

The series has been serialized bi-weekly on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ website and app since March 25th, 2019, with the chapters compiled and published into physical tankobon volumes.
