The TV anime adaptation of Amahara and illustrator Coolkyousinnjya (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) from Studio MAPPA is set for release in Japan on July 22 according to the project's official Twitter account. Based on the promo, fans can expect some high-octane, wacky-violence when the series drops.
An all-star, veteran voice cast has been assembled for the series and includes:
- Romi Park (Nana O. in Nana) as Hayato
- Megumi Ogata (Kurama in Yu Yu Hakusho and Yugi Mutou in Yu-Gi-Oh!) as Easley
- Yui Horie (Kōko Kaga in Golden Time, Tohru Honda in Fruits Basket) as Paula
- Akemi Okamura (Nami in One Piece) as Rin
A new key visual for the project was also released alongside the promo.
Similar to how the One-Punch Man manga series was originally a web manga created by ONE and redrawn by Yusuke Murata, Idaten Deities in the Peaceful Generation orignally started as a web manga drawn and written by Amahara before the series was serialized in the Young Animal seinen manga magazine and redrawn by Coolkyousinnjya.
800 years have passed since the warrior god Itaden sealed away the demons and saved humanity from the brink of extinction. Now peace reigns over the land, and the battle between Itaden and the enemies of humanity is little more than an ancient myth. Suddenly, the demons revive from their long slumber and confront the descendants of Itaden, none of whom have ever fought a real battle before, and a no-holds-barred three-way conflict erupts between the demons, the battle-gods, and the forces of humanity.
