Sentai Filmworks announced on Wednesday that the Vermeil in Gold: A Desperate Magician Barges Into the Magical World Alongside the Strongest Calamity (Kins no Vermeil: Gakeppuchi Majutsushi wa Saiky no Yakusai to Mah Sekai o Tsukisusumu) manga by Kta Amana and Yko Umezu has been licensed for television. As part of the summer simulcast season, HIDIVE will stream the anime exclusively. The series will thereafter be released on home video by Sentai Filmworks at a later date.

AT-X, Tokyo MX, and BS11 will air the anime beginning July 5th, followed by Sun TV on July 6.

Alto Goldfield, a student at a magical academy who aspires to be a master of all magic, is the protagonist of the manga. When he is on the edge of failing a summoning magic class and facing a year's suspension, he comes across an old summoning grimoire. He inscribes a magic circle in accordance with its instructions, and as a result, he summons a formidable demon named Vermeil, who has been sealed for a long time, and makes her his familiar. Vermeil, on the other hand, requires magical energy from Alto on occasion, which she claims by kissing him passionately.

At Staple Entertainment, Takashi Naoya (Osamake, Val x Love, Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) is directing the anime, while Tatsuya Takahashi (The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls, Ms. Koizumi likes ramen noodles, Domestic Girlfriend) is supervising the screenplays. The assistant director is Matsuo Asami. The characters are being designed by Kiyoshi Tateishi (Val x Love, Gekidol), with Ayana Togashi serving as a sub-character designer. Along with Toshimitsu Kobayashi, Yukiyo Komito, and Atsushi Aono, Tateishi is the principal animation director. The CG director is Hiroyuki Ikeda. The art director is Hiroki Ozaki, while the color key artist is Ryoji Nagasaki. The compositing director of photography is Mitsuhiro Kuno, and the editor is Tomomi Umetsu.

The anime's opening theme song, "Abracada-Boo," will be performed by Kaori Ishihara. Mili will perform "Mortal With You," the ending theme song for anime.

The Vermeil in Gold manga was originally published in August of 2018 in Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine. In November 2021, Square Enix released the manga's fifth collected book volume.

Meet Alto, a clueless student at Royal Ortigia Magic Academy with a poor academic record. Rather of taking a more practical strategy to saving his grades in time for graduation, Alto decides to enlist the help of the supernatural. Only then does he discover he's enlisted the famed she-devil Vermeil as his familiar! However, while Vermeil is a formidable ally who can help Alto improve his grades, her magic can only be renewed with a kiss, which causes all hell to break loose with Alto's envious childhood friend, Lilia. In Vermeil in Gold: A Desperate Magician Barges Into the Magical Universe Alongside the Strongest Calamity, it appears that Alto has just unleashed a whole new world of diabolical mayhem!
