Since the original Earth Defense Force game—Simple 2000 Series Vol. 31: The Chikyuu Boueigun—debuted in 2003 on the PlayStation 2 as a part of the SIMPLE 2000 series, we have been blasting bugs in the games. With a brand-new website and short film that looks back at the series' history, D3 Publisher is now celebrating the 20th anniversary of the series!

Watch the short film below, and leave your thoughts on it in the comment section:

D3 Publisher's message:

Beginning June 26, 2003, the "Earth Defense Force" series celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, starting with "The Earth Defense Force" released as part of the "SIMPLE 2000 Series" lineup.

Let’s look back at the history of all the EDF games, up to the latest numbered title: "Earth Defense Force 6".
