Over on Gamefragger we covered that the anime themed TCG Weiss Schwarz got a Steam store page and release date. The English Bushiroad account posted the link and told people to wishlist Weiss Schwarz Online ahead of a spring 2027 window on Steam and Nintendo Switch.
The digital game splits into two editions for fans to get cards from different anime franchises. Weiss Edition lists Aogiri High School, Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko, The Quintessential Quintuplets, and BanG Dream! MyGO!!!!!. Schwarz Edition lists The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors, Sword Art Online, Touhou Project, and BanG Dream! again. Older announcement copy had Ave Mujica on the black side. Treat the four-title lists as the current official load until they announce more.
Languages that will be avaialbe at launch are: Japanese, English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Spanish. FURYU and LANCARSE develop. Bushiroad publishes. Steam already shows single-player, online PvP, achievements, cloud, leaderboards, and partial Xbox controller support. Price is not up. The page is where you can wishlist it now.
Modes for the game are the usual digital TCG stack plus a school story. You play Hinata Amamiya, a second-year transfer at Tenkou Academy. A girl named Ruu teaches the game. The school settles fights with Weiss Schwarz. White Squad is order. Black Squad is freedom. Hinata has a month to pick a side. Story wins unlock more CPU opponents. CPU Fight has three difficulties. Online is Free Fight, Ranked Fight, and Room Fight with a shared ID.
Wins pay WSP which is the currency you will use to purchase things in the shop. The shop trades those points for packs, decks, and supplies. Steam flags in-game purchases. Replies under the English post already reached for the Cardfight!! Vanguard Dear Days comparison: a million DLC boxes. Bushiroad has not published a live set roadmap beyond those eight properties. What is in the first cart and what is paid later is the question the page does not answer.
If you already live in paper Weiss Schwarz, you will already be pretty familiar with the game and it's mechanics. If you have never clocked a climax combo, the academy story is the on-ramp and trianing mode for new players. Wishlist if you want the patch notes in your Steam client. The first real deck list is still months out.
