With all the news springing out of this year's SDCC, one item of particular interest for Western Godzilla fans is news that the new film from TOHO, Shin Godzilla (Godzilla Resurgence) will be released in American theaters thanks to FUNimation.
The 29th Godzilla film from TOHO and the first in a decade will arrive in US theaters at an unspecified date later this year. The film will be released in Japan on July 29. In a press release, FUNimatin COO Mike DuBoise stated, "'Shin Godzilla’ represents a brand new chapter in the 62-year history of this iconic science fiction monster. We’re excited to bring audiences this new vision of Godzilla from Toho as reimagined by directors Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi."
