Fans of Go! Go! Loser Ranger! are being asked to wait once again. The manga by Negi Haruba, the creator of The Quintessential Quintuplets, is going on another hiatus in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine, and this time the official announcement points directly to the creator's health.
The news was shared yesterday by the official X account for Go! Go! Loser Ranger! and The Quintessential Quintuplets, which posted the editorial department's notice from the magazine.
What The Hiatus Announcement Says
Translated into English, the post reads: "Thank you as always for reading Sentai Daishikkaku. We apologize, as the series has only just resumed, but Sentai Daishikkaku will be going on hiatus again for a while. We are deeply sorry to all the readers who have been looking forward to it. We will let you know once the date of its return has been decided."
The attached notice from the Weekly Shonen Magazine editorial department goes into more detail. It explains that the chapter planned for this week's issue will not run, and that the manga will be on break for some time out of consideration for Haruba's health. Translated, the notice says the series "will resume serialization as soon as Haruba-sensei's health has sufficiently recovered and there is a prospect of being able to deliver the work in a stable manner."
No return date has been given. The official account says it will share one once it has been decided.
A Short Return After The Last Break
The timing is what makes this one sting. Go! Go! Loser Ranger! only recently came back from its previous hiatus, which the same account announced back in July (July 8th). That earlier post said the series would be on break for a while and that it was expected to resume around August.
The manga ended up returning in late September (September 24th) with chapter 222, and it had been running again for just a few weeks before this new announcement. Unlike the July post, this new announcement does not offer an expected return window at all, so it is anyone's guess how long this break will last.
Health Comes First
Taking time off for health is nothing new in weekly manga, where the schedule is famously punishing. Plenty of creators have had to step away to recover, and most fans would rather see Haruba take the time he needs than push through and risk his wellbeing. For now, readers who want to catch up have plenty of options, from the English volumes to both seasons of the anime.
About Go! Go! Loser Ranger!
Haruba launched Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, known in Japan as Sentai Daishikkaku, in Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2021. The series flips the classic Super Sentai formula on its head, following a lowly foot soldier from the monster army who sets out to take down the heroic Dragon Keepers from the inside. Kodansha USA publishes the manga in English.
The manga has also been adapted into a TV anime. The first season premiered in April 2024, followed by a second season in April 2025, and both seasons are streaming on Disney+, with Hulu carrying the series in the United States.
Haruba is best known for The Quintessential Quintuplets, the hit romantic comedy that also ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine and was adapted into two anime seasons and a feature film. His shift into the darker, action-heavy world of Loser Ranger surprised a lot of readers at the time, and the series has built a loyal following of its own since then.
