In 2005 an Gonzo produced an anime series chronicling the quest of former war photographer Katsumi Saiga and his discovery of an ultra-wealthy secret fetish club and the 15-year-old "Goddess" which he receives the power to destroy anything he photographs from called Speed Grapher and was released from Funimation.
The premise is exciting enough - eerily similar to that of Death Note with a camera in place of the notebook, there is definitely plenty of plot to be pulled from that sort of macguffin. The art-style of the series is a punch of nostalgia for anyone who found themselves at home on Toonami in the early 2000s evoking shows of its time like Ghost in the Shell and Black Lagoon.
While it was subsequently released as a manga series in the Monthly Dengeki Comic GAO! series and ultimately by Tokyopop, Titan Comics is set to revive this franchise by releasing the first volume of their own manga adaptation of Speed Grapher.
If you haven't seen the series itself yet we have included a video to tease you on it below ahead of the new manga release. Meanwhile, we have been given an exclusive look at the art to come in this new adaptation for you ahead of the book's April 2024 release, and we have compiled said artwork for you below the show's trailer.
What do you guys think of this early-2000's anime series? Is it something you already have love for or will you be looking to add it to your catalog of viewed shows? Be sure to check out the full list of artwork below and share your take in the comments section as always!
