The latest film coming from Studio Ghibli (Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo) is a first in a unique way. Earwig and the Witch is a fun new tale about witchcraft and shenanigans that is not only Studio Ghibli's first CG film; Hayao Miyazaki's son, Goro, will also direct it.
The film adapts the novel by Dianne Wynne Jones, which is actually the second novel from the author that has been adapted by Ghibli following Howl's Moving Castle. The new 3DCG film was met with some criticism for not being hand drawn as the studio is typically known for; however, it doesn't seem to lack in any of the heart that fans love its films for.
A couple of new trailers have dropped for the film, both subbed and dubbed, looking at what the film will be about. The English dub also features a look at Kacey Musgraves singing the show's theme song!
