The English dub of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus finally has a date, and if you want to hear it when it arrives, you're going to need Crunchyroll!
Toei Animation and Crunchyroll have confirmed that the dub starts streaming on Thursday, November 12th at 8am PT / 11am ET. Anime News Network reports that Crunchyroll will stream the English, Spanish and Portuguese dubs exclusively, with new dubbed episodes every week.
Crunchyroll posted the dub trailer on November 5th. Check it out below!
The voices you'd expect are back!
Sean Schemmel is Goku, Christopher R. Sabat is Vegeta, Jason Douglas is Beerus and Ian Sinclair is Whis. That's the same four actors Funimation announced back in 2016 for the original Dragon Ball Super dub.
The Spanish cast is led by Mario Castañeda as Goku and René Garcia as Vegeta, with Wendel Bezerra and Alfredo Rollo in those roles for Portuguese. Toei Animation Latinoamérica announced the Spanish dub on X with the words "en exclusiva."
The Outer Haven, citing the press release, says the dubs are set for the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Latin America. That's a shorter list so far than the subtitled version, which ANN says also reaches South Africa, India, Southeast Asia and Europe.
So what does it mean for Crunchyroll? We asked that exact question on October 1st, when Netflix had a date and Crunchyroll hadn't said a word.
Crunchyroll and Hulu had the subtitles in the U.S. on October 11th, the same day the series premiered on Fuji TV in Japan, and ANN has Netflix following in the U.S. on October 17th. ScreenRant lists the subtitled version on both, and says Crunchyroll is the only platform with the English dub at launch.
How long Crunchyroll keeps the dubs to itself, I can't tell you. Neither Netflix nor Hulu has announced a dub that we could find.
Longtime fans have been down this road before. Dragon Ball Daima started on Crunchyroll with subtitles on October 11th, 2024, and its English dub followed on January 10th, 2025. When that date was announced, Popverse noted the series was on Netflix as well, but the dub appeared to be a Crunchyroll exclusive. That didn't hold forever on Hulu. In June 2025, CBR spotted the complete dubbed series on Hulu's press schedule for July 2nd.
Daima fans waited 91 days for that streaming dub. Beerus fans are waiting 32!
Dub watchers will still start behind. Episode 4 went out on November 1st and episode 5 is scheduled for Sunday, November 8th, so five subtitled episodes should be available when the dub starts. With both versions running weekly, the subs stay ahead for this 19-episode series unless Crunchyroll speeds things up.
The remake hasn't had an easy ride with fans.
ComicBook's own rundown: fan-favorite scenes removed, exaggerated filters, and slow-motion pans and still frames instead of fluid animation. Level Up was reporting fan anger over recycled material from the 2015 series as early as October 13th, while also noting praise for the animation and a more menacing Beerus.
People are watching anyway!
Netflix's own Top 10 has the series at No. 9 on its global non-English TV list for October 19th to 25th, with 2.2 million views.
ComicBook calls it one of the biggest hits of fall 2026, but it wasn't on the list the week before, when Netflix only had it in the U.S. from October 17th, and it missed the list the week after, when No. 10 took 2.3 million. So far that's one week on the chart, on subtitles alone, and the dub won't change that list, since Netflix isn't getting it at launch.
For a lot of fans, Schemmel's Goku and Sabat's Vegeta ARE Dragon Ball!
What do you think? Will Schemmel and Sabat get you onto Crunchyroll on November 12th? Are you sticking with the subs on Netflix or Hulu?
