News was released today that Toei's Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the upcoming enhanced remake of Dragon Ball Super, will stream on Netflix in the U.S. on October 17, 2026.

In Japan, the series will premiere a bit earlier, on October 11, on Fuji TV.

No official word has been announced by Crunchyroll yet, but it's expected that the series will also be simulcast on the anime streamer just a few hours after it premiere in Japan. Stay tuned for official news.

A series as large as Dragon Ball Super likely won't wait several days before dropping a brand new episode in North America and the rest of the world- the show would lose too many viewers/ratings to pirate sites.

It was also officially confirmed that the enhanced remake will run for 19 episodes.

These 19 episodes will cover the Beerus saga, Golden Frieza arc, and the  Universe 6 tournament. It's currently unknown if the remaining two DBS arcs, the Future Trunks arc and Tournament of Power, will be covered.  By the time the show had entered the last two arcs, much of the early production and animation issues had been resolved, so there's not as big of a need for a remake.

Additionally, Toei is also hard at work on a completely brand new Dragon Ball Super anime, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, which covers the events of the manga that take the story past the Tournament of Power arc. It's currently unknown when this new anime will start.

Speaking back in April at the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 event in Los Angeles, Dragon Ball executive producer Akio Iyoku explained the decision to remake the Beerus arc from the Dragon Ball Super anime, stating the goal is to, "express the world of Dragon Ball Super- Toriyama-sensei's creation, with more precision and accuracy.

"It's only been 10 years since 2015, but visual expression continues to evolve every day, and implementing those techniques was one of the goals of this production.  Specifically, we added extensive new cuts, improved the art quality, re-rendered all cuts, and fully re-constructed the story."

With Majin Buu defeated, Goku has taken a completely new role as...a radish farmer?! With Earth at peace, our heroes have settled into normal lives. But they can’t get too comfortable. Far away, the powerful God of Destruction, Beerus, awakens to a prophecy revealing his demise at the hands of an even more formidable being. When his search for the Saiyan God brings him to Earth, can Goku and his friends take on their strongest foe yet?
