We have quite a few exciting new updates for the CITY HUNTER film following the reveal of the film last December! Crunchyroll says that the new film will be titled CITY HUNTER The Movie: Angel Dust with The Final Chapter Begins as the subtitle. The film will focus on Ryo Saeba's past and the death of his partner Hideyuki Makimura. This anime is meant to be the feature film follow-up to the 2019 film Shinjuku Private Eyes.
Crunchyroll describes CITY HUNTER The Movie: Angel Dust:
Ryo Saeba, the legendary City Hunter, is a first-class sweeper for hire, taking on jobs from protecting beautiful women to taking out bad guys permanently. He can be a private detective or hitman, whatever the case calls for, and it often requires the use of his superhuman marksmanship. But even so, Ryo can’t do it alone. His partner is Kaori Makimura, the younger sister of his murdered best friend. Kaori serves as his assistant, while also protecting their attractive clients from Ryo’s “mokkori” advances with her trusty supply of 100 ton hammers.
With the reveal of the new title and release date of the new movie, a new teaser video and character image of Kaori Makimura holding a mallet were released! Other details of the film that were announced included the return of Shinjuku Private Eyes director Kenji Kodama as well as scriptwriter Yasuyuki Muto.

In addition to Akira Kamiya's comeback as Ryo Saeba, other actors who previously appeared in the film will be coming back as well! Actors like Kazue Ikura as Kaori Makimura, Yko Asagami as Saeko Nogami, Tesshô Genda as Umibôzu, and Mami Koyama as Miki, a fan favorite. As of December 2022, fans can purchase movie ticket cards that feature key visual artwork from the anime. The cards also come with an acrylic stand of Ryo Saeba recreating the key visual.
