Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc

The theatrical screenings for the upcoming television anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-Hen) debuted at #1 for its second weekend. The title is "World Tour Jei: Kimetsu no Yaiba Jgen Shketsu, Soshite Katanakaji no Sato e" (World Tour Screenings: Demon Slayer: The From Friday to Sunday). The movie sold 402,000 tickets, bringing in 571,261,650 yen, or roughly $4.32 million. 1.47 million tickets were sold for the movie, and it has so far taken in 2,088,428,490 yen, or roughly $15.79 million. Beginning on February 25, the films will be screened in MX4D, 4DX, and Dolby Cinema.

In its first weekend, the movie came in at number one. In its first three days in Japan, the movie sold 813,000 tickets and made 1,158,765,410 yen, or nearly $8.75 million.

On February 3, the films began showing at 418 theaters in Japan. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc episodes 10 and 11 as well as the debut episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc are included in the screenings. Over 95 nations and territories will host screenings of the films. In April, a one-hour special of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc will air on television. The primary cast, the animation studio ufotable, character designer and chief animation director Akira Matsushima, and the director Haruo Sotozaki are all back for the new arc.

The First Slam Dunk

From Friday to Sunday, The First Slam Dunk, the new anime adaptation of Takehiko Inoue's Slam Dunk basketball manga, brought in 276,969,420 yen (about $2.09 million), moving up from #3 to #2 for its 11th weekend. 7.11 million tickets have been sold for the movie, totaling 10,379,729,070 yen, or around $78.47 million. The movie has surpassed Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 to become the 12th highest-grossing anime film and the 38th highest-grossing movie of all time in Japan.

In its first weekend, the movie came in at number one. Over the course of its first weekend, the movie sold 847,000 tickets and brought in 1,295,808,780 yen (about $9.50 million). The movie premiered on December 3 in Japan. In 40 theaters around Japan, the film will be screened in IMAX, while 34 theaters will show it in Dolby Atmos. On December 10, the movie added Dolby Cinema screenings.

At Toei Animation, Inoue himself created the storyline and directed the movie. Character designer and animation director Yasuyuki Ebara (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) is listed among the staff members, along with technical directors Katsuhiko Kitada (Attack on Titan episodes, Major: Yj no Winning Shot), Naoki Miyahara (Digimon Adventure, Popin Q), Toshio hashi (LayereD Stories 0), and Y Kamatani (Looking for Magical DoReMi,

The CG was created by Yta Ogura and was produced by Daiki Nakazawa. The art was directed by Kazuo Ogura. The sound was directed by Koji Kasamatsu and Yota Tsuruoka.

Suzume

From Friday to Sunday, the Suzume (Suzume no Tojimari) movie directed by Makoto Shinkai brought in 116,964,610 yen (about $885,600 USD), moving up from #5 to #4 in its 14th weekend. The movie has already made a total of 13,596,399,330 yen, or around $102 million, worldwide. The movie has surpassed Top Gun: Maverick to become the #17 highest-grossing movie of all time in Japan and the #10 highest-grossing anime movie.

The movie earned 1.88 billion yen (about US$13.49 million) in its first three days of release after debuting at No. 1 on November 11 and selling 1.33 million tickets.

Compared to Shinkai's critically praised your name, which made 1,277,960,000 yen (about $12.51 million at the time) in its first three days, the movie sold 38.7% more tickets and made 47.4% more money. It also had the strongest opening three days of all of Shinkai's movies, with ticket sales and revenue up 14.8% and 14.4%, respectively, above Weathering With You.

Suzume Iwato, the movie's heroine, is voiced by actress Nanoka Hara. Hokuto Matsumura, a member of the SixTONES idol group, made his voice acting debut in the movie as Sta Munakata, a young guy who travels with Suzume as the "Door-Closing Master," just as he did in the live-action Liar Liar and xxxHOLiC films.

The movie's screenplay and direction were both done by Shinkai (your name from Weathering With You). The original story is credited to him as well. The characters were created by Masayoshi Tanaka (your name, Weathering With You). The animation director for Garden of Words was Kenichi Tsuchiya (your name). The art director was Takumi Tanji (Children Who Chase Lost Voices). The film was made by Story Inc. and CoMix Wave Films.

The movie is being released by TOHO. The movie's music is by RADWIMPS. The movie's soundtrack was created by RADWIMPS and Seattle-based Hollywood composer Kazuma Jinnouchi (Ghost in the Shell: SAC 2045, RWBY: Ice Queendom). Toaka, a TikTok performer, sang "Suzume," one of the movie's theme songs. In its third weekend, the anime movie Gold Kingdom and Water Kingdom fell outside of the top 10.
