It was announced earlier this year that Toei had begun production of FUUTO PI to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the legendary Kamen Rider series. Funimation also announced that it would be streaming the new anime series upon its release.
Although the Kamen Rider series has had multiple anime adaptations in the form of anime shorts and OVAs, FUUTO PI will be the first full anime series based upon the live-action Kamen Rider program and is set after the events of Kamen Rider W, which originally aired in 2009.
This week we get to see two new peices of artwork highlighting the main characters of the upcoming series, as well as one really cool motorcycle. We also have our first details regarding the staff of the new anime.
FUUTO PI will be produced at Sutdio KAI and is being directed by Yousuke Kabashima and Ayataka Tanemura (Black Clover). Hidekazu Ebina is in charge of character designs with Tatsuto Higuchi working on series composition. Music for the anime series will be handled by Kotaro Nakagawa (Prison School) and Shuhei Naruse (SKET Dance).
FUUTO PI will adapt the Fūto Tantei manga that was written by Riku Sanjō and illustrated by Masaki Satou's. The Fūto Tantei manga series served as a sequel 2009's Kamen Rider W and is published by Weekly BIg Comic Spirits.
