Needing a new show to watch this month? We have a recommendation for you! The new show Revenger just had its English Dub cast and crew revealed, as well as its highly anticipated release date. The shows first episode will be going live January 19th! The television series is expected to have twelve episodes currently.
Now that you know about the release date, let's talk about the show itself! The story is set in a warring Japan and follows Raizo Kurima, a samurai.
Raizo works for the group known as Revengers (which we can also classify as hitmen), and they exact vengeance on behalf of people who don't have much, if anything at all - sort of a Robin Hood situation. The crew works at the "Ribenjiya" store, which presents itself on the outside with a facade as a general store while concealing the Revengers organization being run inside.
A brilliant lacquer craftsman who runs the organization in order to help settle debts, or "revenge" for others (Yuen Usui), a naive party-going, androgynous young man who physically isn't forebearing, but the facade helps hide his cruel and calculating mind (Nio), a former pirate turned selfless doctor who maintains heavy weaponry (Teppa Murakami), and a gambler who enjoys both money and booze yet has a soft side for the people he cares for (Soji) are some of Kurima's coworkers within the organization. Working together, the five men begin to form an odd bond and friendship that allows them to seek vengence and protect those that aren't protected.
The show sounds compelling, and is expected to gain traction with its release. We're excited to see how it turns out!
