November is shaping up to be a huge month for Pokemon fans who play on the go. The team behind Pokemon GO has shared new details on the Stamp Rallies taking place at its Wild Area events in Japan and Mexico, and the full event lineup is packed with Legendary Pokemon from across the franchise.
Stamp Rallies In Sendai And Mexico City
Stamp rallies are a beloved tradition at Pokemon events in Japan, where fans travel from spot to spot collecting stamps featuring their favorite characters. The Pokemon GO version brings that idea into the game.
According to the official Pokemon GO account, the Stamp Rallies at the Sendai, Tohoku and Mexico City events will run from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, but only on each player's main ticketed day. Fans who bought the Extra Day gameplay add-on will not receive a second rally.
In Sendai, the rally will take place at PokeStops within Sendai City itself, even though the wider event lets players explore across Miyagi Prefecture. Both in-person events run from November 6th to November 8th, and tickets for both cities are already sold out.
Attendees will also have a chance to find Hisuian Sliggoo and Hisuian Goodra, the regional forms first introduced in Pokemon Legends: Arceus.
Dialga, Palkia And A Very Big Duraludon
For fans following the main series, the global event on November 14th and 15th has some exciting connections. Dynamax Dialga will appear on Saturday and Dynamax Palkia on Sunday, bringing the Legendary guardians of time and space from the Sinnoh region into Max Battles.
The headliner is Gigantamax Duraludon, which makes its Pokemon GO debut in six-star Max Battles. Duraludon's Gigantamax form, which turns the Steel and Dragon-type into a towering skyscraper, was one of the more memorable designs from Pokemon Sword and Shield, and fans have been waiting to see it in GO.
Players can also battle Machamp wearing a modern jacket in three-star raids, a fun costume take on the Fighting-type powerhouse.
The Unova Dragon Trio Returns
Fans of Pokemon Black and White have plenty to look forward to as well. Reshiram, Zekrom and Kyurem will appear in raids, along with Black Kyurem and White Kyurem. Fusion Energy can be used to fuse Kyurem with Reshiram or Zekrom, and the move Glaciate is part of the event.
Ticket holders will also be able to encounter Mighty versions of Latias and Latios, the Eon duo who starred in the 2002 movie Pokemon Heroes. GO Safari Balls are being used to catch Mighty Pokemon during the event, adding a little extra challenge.
Tickets And Bonuses
The ticket for Pokemon GO Wild Area: Global costs $11.99 and includes bonuses like double candy, six Raid Passes and cheaper trades. The event will also feature Steel and Dragon hours, and Special Backgrounds for certain Pokemon. Daily Discoveries will be paused between November 9th and November 15th.
For anime and series fans, the Wild Area events are a nice reminder of how much Pokemon GO now pulls from every corner of the franchise, mixing Galar's Dynamax mechanic with Legendaries from Sinnoh and Unova and regional forms from Hisui.
For the lucky fans who already have tickets to Sendai or Mexico City, the main takeaway is simple. Pick the day on your ticket for the Stamp Rally, make your way into Sendai City if you are attending in Japan, and give yourself enough time between raids to collect every stamp before 8 p.m. For everyone else, the global weekend a week later offers most of the excitement without the travel, and it is a good excuse to gather a group of friends for those six-star Max Battles.
