Free! The Final Stroke just announced that the second part of the film has hit sales over 1 billion yen and sold over 650,000 tickets!

Attention fans of the film Free! The Final Stroke! Over this past weekend the second part of the film series hit a new record for ticket sales and earnings. The second movie in the new Free! anime franchise's two-part anime film project, Free! The Final Stroke More than 1 billion yen (about $7.67 million) in revenue and 650,000 tickets were sold.

The plot of the second film revolves around Haruka feeling like he is being held captive by the loss he had swimming against the unmistakable champion, Albert, and feels like he's lost his way. With the current state of things, his swimming and what the water means to him are called into question. The film follows him along his journey of discovering where his passions really lie. Will he be able to find joy again in his swimming? You'll have to watch the film to find out!

On January 27, the first and second movies had a joint screening in Japan's theaters.

In April 2022, the second picture ranked #4 during its opening.  After 11 weeks in theaters, it made about 910 million yen (approximately $6.98 million) and sold about 625,000 tickets. In September 2021, the first movie premiered in Japan. The films are the "final chapter" for the franchise. "Let's go, to the stage of glory," is the project's tagline. As of October 2021, the first movie had taken in 543,136,940 yen (about $4.75 million) and debuted at #3 in the Japanese box office.

The first movie was shown by Crunchyroll at Anime Frontier in November of the previous year.

This upcomig August 12–13, the franchise will celebrate its tenth anniversary in Saitama Super Arena.

There are three television anime seasons of the Free! franchise, which centers on the Iwatobi High School Swim Club. The television series was shown in 2013, 2014, and 2018. The Fast and Free! In 2015, the prequel movie to Starting Days debuted. The Free! The Movie -Timeless Medley- the Bond and Free! The Movie -Timeless Medley- the Promise compilation films opened in April 2017 and July 2017, respectively. The Free! -Take Your Marks- film of short stories then opened in October 2017.

The previous installment of the series, Free! Road to the World Yume (Dream), debuted in July 2019 and served as both a "bridge" to the new films and a "reconstruction" of the Free! Dive to the Future television anime series.
