Crunchyroll and Adult Swim debuted the first trailer for Blade Runner: Black Lotus, their upcoming anime series inspired by the Blade Runner franchise, during their panel at the virtual San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend! The first trailer gives plenty of action and raises even more questions. Will the new anime series dive into the deeper subject matter seen in the films? We sure hope so!

The Blade Runner: Black Lotus anime series will consist of 13 episodes and will be available via Crunchyroll and Adult Swim's Toonami programming block sometime this fall. The new Blade Runner anime series will take place in 2032 in Los Angeles, right between the events of Ridley Scott's original Blade Runner, which was set in 2019, and Denis Villeneuve's sequel Blade Runner 2049.
