The first English-dubbed episode of Natsume's Book of Friends Season 5 has arrived and is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Based on the Japanese manga series by Yuki Midorikawa, the series follows Takashi Natsume, a teenage orphan who has the ability to see spirits. When Natsume discovers an old notebook left by his late grandmother, Reiko, an exorcist with strong spiritual powers, he discovers the real reason why these spirits are surrounding him.

Natsume Takashi has the ability to see spirits, which he has long kept secret. However, once he inherits a strange book that belonged to his deceased grandmother, Reiko, he discovers the reason why spirits surround him.
Natsume's Book of Friends was adapted into an anime TV series, with the first season debuting in 2008. seasons one through four were produced by Brain's Base, while Shuka has animated the fifth season onwards.
NIS America licensed the first four seasons in North America and released them on home video in Japanese with English subtitles. Meanwhile, Crunchyroll is streaming all six seasons, though only the first four have been dubbed in English.
The first English-dubbed episode of Season 5 premiered today, May 8th.

The Natsume's Book of Friends manga has been serialized in LaLa since July 2007. As of September 2023, the chapters and specials have been collected in 30 tankobon volumes. For those interested in the manga, it is licensed for English-language release in North America by Viz Media.
