The official Twitter account for the Sound! Euphonium Ensemble Contest arc OVA has released not only a brand new visual featuring the mysterious new character Mayu Kuroe who we'll meet in the third season, but also a special look at the next season that was previewed at the end of the OVA. All of these exciting new announcements come in part as a sort of celebration of the OVA arc officially being out for a month now!

Spring in the first year of high school. Kumiko, a member of the brass band in junior high school, visits the high school brass band club with classmates Hazuki and Sapphire. There, she comes across Reina, her former classmate from junior high. Hazuki and Sapphire decide to join the club, but Kumiko can’t make up her mind. She recollects her experience with Reina at a competition in junior high school.
Kyoto Animation is taking a big part in the production of the film by teaming up with Naoko Yamada who served as chief director for the first two seasons of Sound! Euphonium and helmed the spin-off film Liz and the Blue Bird. The first episode of the third season is scheduled to air in April of 2024. The anime films and television series are all available to watch online through Crunchyroll. The animation for both was created at Kyoto Animation.
