The Marshal King is moving pages again. Boichi posted chapter 28 on Shonen Jump+ on Friday, the first new shot since the series stopped in December. Shueisha has chapter 29 dated September 11. That is a nine-month hole in a book that only launched February 7, 2025.
Boichi writes and draws this one himself. No Riichiro Inagaki in the credits. The pitch Viz Media is using in English is short: desperadoes, marshals, a two-fisted Wild West as Boichi imagines it. Same artist as Dr. Stone and One Piece: Ace’s Story. Same gun-and-muscle page style as Sun-Ken Rock.
The plot for the manga starts with M. Godspeed, a continent-famous outlaw, hitting a gold train bound for the U.S. Central Bank. A young man named Jim Godspeed walks out of the desert claiming to be the son and claiming he already killed the old man. He offers the corpse as proof. Mira and Agera share early covers with him. Later chapters pull in the AGP Club and a character named Nano. Volume 1’s collected shots run the train job through the first team-up. Volume 3 landed in Japan in November 2025, right before the freeze. Shots 23 through 27 were the last batch sitting outside a tankobon when the wiki snapshot was taken.
Viz put English volume 1 on August 4, 2026. Digital chapters run on the Shonen Jump app and on Shueisha’s Manga Plus. France’s Doki-Doki and Germany’s Egmont have print licenses. Egmont’s first German book is solicited for October 6. None of that replaces the weekly Japanese feed. For nine months there was no weekly Japanese feed.
Jump+ hiatus notes in December did not spell out a medical leave or a new exclusive. The book simply stopped after chapter 27. Friday’s chapter 28 is the restart. September 11 is the test of whether this is a real cadence or a one-and-done pulse.
Boichi’s last long weekly was Dr. Stone with Inagaki, March 2017 to March 2022, 26 volumes. The anime is still closing out Dr. Stone: Science Future. Ace’s Story was a One Piece side path. Marshal King is the first time he has owned both script and pencils on a Jump+ western. The pages are dense: trains, gold, rifles, steam-adjacent hardware, faces that look like they were carved with a knife. If you came from Senku’s science gags, this is a different muscle.
No anime announcement came with the return. No new volume date came with it. The news is the chapter number. 28 is live. 29 is Friday next week if Shueisha holds the calendar.
If you dropped off in December, Manga Plus is the free English door. If you never started, volume 1 is the train robbery and the son with a body in tow. Boichi is back on the range. The question is how many shots he fires before the next pause.
