After 21 years of media production Rooster Teeth (Red Vs. Blue) has been officially shut down. In those respects two major anime shows now have an uncertain future with Warner Bros failing to make any subsequent announcement for what the horizon will hold for these I.P.s

Where good news is concerned, it has been said that the Rooster Teeth team currently remains unimpacted by this closure. In addition the Roost Podcast Network will also continue to operate.

Warner Bros Discovery is currently gauging interest for a potential external acquisition. Meanwhile, the final season of Red Vs. Blue, which has been active for two decades, will air this upcoming fall.

There have been nine seasons of the fan-favorite female-led anime series RWBY, and RWBY: Ice Queendom premiered in Japan with a simultaneous Crunchyroll dub in 2022, with an English dub soon to follow. As such, it is certain that countless fans will remain on the edge of their seats in the meantime while waiting for a subsequent announcement from Warner Bros Discovery.

General Manager Jordan Levin announced that this development comes "due to challenges facing digital media resulting from fundamental shifts in consumer behavior and monetization across platforms, advertising, and patronage." He was also sure to add "Warner Bros. Discovery continued its investment in [Rooster Teeth's] company, content and community."

Fans who want a taste of nostalgia and those unfamiliar with the popular series can find the premiere episode of RWBY below which is centered around Ruby Rose.

Other productions have been coming in recent years outisde of simply Red Vs. Blue and RWBY, with the company seemingly having a promising future. Working alongside the ever-popular Michael B. Jordan, Rooster Teeth put out the mech-based anime series gen:LOCK as well as co-producing Transformers: War For Cybertron alongside Polygon.

With the star-studded nature of gen:LOCK there could still be hope for additional content in the franchise going forward. Boasting the talents of Doctor Who's David Tennant, Game of Thrones's Maisie Williams, Dakota Fanning, and Michael B. Jordan himself.

We have included the first episode of gen:LOCK below for the viewing pleasure of anyone looking to immerse themselves in the world of or support the uncertain future of the anime series.

Michael B. Jordan, Dakota Fanning, Maisie Williams, Koichi Yamadera, Golshifteh Farahani, Asia Kate Dillon, and David Tennant star in the new animated series from Rooster Teeth, creators of RWBY.

Earth, 2068. City by city, free society is being forcibly absorbed into a vast autocracy. One military force holds the line. One pilot could turn the tide.

What do you guys think of these two pilot episodes? Do you think the closure of Rooster Teeth is precedented or warranted? Which of these series would you save given the chance? Share your thoughts on this development in the comments section below!
