'The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic' English dub lands on Crunchyroll this season, delivering amiable characters and hilarious comedy beginning January 19.
The anime is based on the light novels by Kurokata and KeG, and tells the story of Usato, a high school student who, along with two others, is suddenly transported to another world by mistake. In this new world, Usato discovers he has a unique aptitude for healing magic and uses it to train beyond human limits, gaining incredible strength and stamina.
The first episode of the anime features a talented cast and crew, including Alejandro Saab as Usato, Colleen Clinkenbeard as Rose, Alexis Tipton as Suzune, and Matt Holmes as Kazuki. The English dub was directed by Caitlin Glass, produced by Samantha Herek, and adapted by Jarrod Greene.
The anime was directed by Takahide Ogata, with series composition by Shogo Yasukawa and character designs by Kenji Tanabe. The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic began as a light novel series that started serialization online in March 2014 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Media Factory later acquired the series and published twelve volumes between March 2016 and March 2020 under their MF Books imprint.
The manga adaptation with art by Reki Kugayama has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's seinen manga magazine Comp Ace since April 2017 and has been licensed in North America by One Peace Books. A sequel light novel series, The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic Returns, began publication in December 2023.
This anime television series adaptation produced by Studio Add and Shin-Ei Animation premiered in January 2024 in Tokyo.
