COWBOY BEBOP Is Getting Its Own Comic Book Series!

Netflix's upcoming Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation is getting a prequel novel, coffee table art book, and original comic book series!

The first images from Netflix upcoming Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation hit last week (click here to check them out!), and it's been announced that there will be several related products that are sure to get fans excited, including an original comic book series for the popular anime-turned-manga-turned-live-action!

Titan Publishing has announced a new collaboration with Netflix to publish two official books and a comic book series for the upcoming Cowboy Bebop series, which is set to premier on Netflix on November 19, 2021. We have the cover for the first comic book included below!

Cowboy Bebop: A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem offers an exclusive adventure lading into the events of the live-action series. It is written by Sean Cummings, a staff writer on the Netflix series. In it readers will be able to explore the rich history of Cowboy Bebop, as seen through the eyes of a young Spike Spiegel and Vicious.

Cowboy Bebop: Making the Netflix Series captures and documents the epic journey behind the scenes of Netflix's live-action Cowboy Bebop adaptation. It featuers an exclusive foreward by showrunner André Nemec and is packed with concept art, revealing behind-the-scenes photograpy, and stories from the cast and crew sharing how one of the most influential anime series of all time was translated to live-action.

Cowboy Bebop: The Comic Series will introduce fans of the series to a never-before-seen comic story. Set in the year 2171, the bounty hunter crew of the spaceship Bebop chase an ex-gang member who holds a vest which gives the wearer unlimited luck.

The new comic book series will be penned by DC comics veteran Dan Watters (Lucifer, Home Sick Pilots) with art by Lamar Mathurin. It is set to debut with a range of variant covers, including cover art by comics legend Stanley ‘Artgerm’ Lau. The first of this four-issue story will arrive in stores December 2021 with a collected trade paperback to be released May 2022.

The popular Cowboy Bebop live-action adaptation is based upon the popular and award-winning anime of the same name (which was also adapted into a manga series). Cowboy Bebop is an action-packed space Western about three bounty hunters, aka "cowboys," who are all trying to outrun their past. As different as they are deadly, Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir), and Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda) form a scrappy and snarky crew ready to hunt down the solar system's most dangerous criminals.
