As a follow up to our previous report that Funimation would be releasing your name. in North American theaters before the end of 2016 so that it qualifies for the next Oscars, Funimation has provided additional information to Variety.

It seems that the film will only be released in Los Angles, showing at the  Laemmle Music Hall, from Dec. 2 -8 so that your name. meets the minimum requirements to qualify for the Oscars.  Funimation then plans a wider release in North America doing the first quarter of 2017.

So unless you live in LA or will be visiting the week of December 02, you'll have to wait till next year to see the film that's currently dominating the Japanese box office.
