Oscar-nominated Mamoru Hosoda's latest animated feature Belle is set to hit US theaters January 14th. In anticipation of it's upcoming release, GKIDS has revealed the English voice cast and also released an English dubbed trailer for the film (included below)!
The English language dubbed version of Belle will feature the voices of Chace Crawford (The Boys, Gossip Girl), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers, The Good Place), and Hunter Schafer (Euphoria). In her first lead role, playing teenager Suzu and the titular virtual singer 'Belle' is Kylie McNeill, who also recorded English versions of the film’s soundtrack, which will be released on January 14th by Milan Records.
Belle is an original story written by celebrated director Mamoru Hosoda (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast). He is joined by Studio Chizu co-founder Yuichiro Saito as producer. Belle made it's world prmiere at the Cannes Film Festival and New York Film Festival to critical acclaim. It was released in Japanese theaters, including IMAX, in July 16th, 2021. The film topped the box office for three consecutive weekends. To date it has earned 6.53 billion yen at the box office and has become Hosada's highest-grossing film ever, beating the lifetime gross of Boy and the Beast.
The English language version of the film was produced by GKIDS and NYAV Post. The original music team, including Taisei Iwasaki, Takayuki Chiyo, and Ludvig Forssell additionally supervised the English language song adaptation in collaboration with GKIDS and NYAV Post.
Belle's opens theatrically and on IMAX screens in both its original Japanese language and the all new English dubbed version. IMAX previews will be available in select markets beginning January 12th, 2022. You can pick tickets up at BelleFilm.com!
